Sweet Tips for Valentine’s Day…

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and sweet treats are headed your way.  Sweet, sour and sticky candies, such as Starbursts and Skittles, may taste great, but can be damaging to teeth and braces. These candies have a low pH known to ruin your tooth’s protective enamel, causing decay and cavities. Instead, try softer treats, such as chocolate or peanut butter cups.

But, why not consider some chocolate covered strawberries?

This combines the sweet, rich chocolate chocolate dipped strawberrieswith your daily dose of fruit. Strawberries contain the benefits of the powerful antioxidant, Vitamin C, and just five large berries will provide you with about 98% of the daily value. Vitamin C is known for its immunity boosting properties. But, did you know it also promotes eye health by strengthening the cornea and retina, decreasing the chance of cataracts.

Whatever your Valentine’s Day surprise, be sure to brush and floss!
