Seasonal Stress Can Challenge Your Vision

The added activities and endless to-do lists leave many people’s already hectic lifestyles almost unmanageable. Instead of experiencing the joy of the season, many are overtired and overwhelmed.

Ongoing stress and anxiety can lead to the excessive production of adrenaline, causing tunnel vision, playing tricks on your peripheral vision and increasing intraocular pressure which can result in blurred vision. Stress and anxiety can also cause muscle strain, a rise in blood pressure and tension – all of which affect vision.

Be intentional about stress management as you tackle this time of the year. In some cases, take a moment, and just breathe. If you begin experiencing new or different vision problems, make sure to reach out to your eye doctor for a consultation.
